Students who do not meet the entry requirements to follow an Advanced Level study programme
may choose to study a one-year Foundation Level programme instead. To study a Foundation Level
Programme, you will require a minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 or above, including English. At least
one GCSE should be at Grade 4 or above. English and Maths are compulsory and will be included in
your programme if a Grade 4 has not already been achieved.

Gateway to Foundation
A one-year programme for students who have recently relocated to the UK and for whom English is a second
language. Students should typically have GCSE equivalent qualifications of Grade 3s or above. Student will
study ESOL and Maths, plus one option from Biology, Graphic Design or Photography. At the end of a successful
Gateway Foundation Year, students will have the opportunity to apply to study for a second year of full GCSE (or
equivalent) courses on our Foundation Level programme.
