The IB Tutorial Programme
Every IB student has a personal tutor who
meets the student on a regular basis. The
tutor is there to help with work planning,
to advise on CAS and to support progress
generally through the Diploma programme.
The IB tutors get to know the student and
their individual needs throughout the course
and the tutor also provides a point of
contact for parents with the college.
As the course develops, attention turns to
university applications. The personal tutor
provides a great deal of help with the whole
process of choosing a university course and
with writing the application. The tutor also
writes the students’ reference.
What our past students
say about the IB
I am appreciative to have
spent the last two years
with such a dynamic and
supportive group of people."
Alba Braham (2022-2024),
Maths & Physics, University of
Edinburgh
“
What I particularly enjoyed
most was the way I was
challenged and pushed by the
IB.” Luca Buckley McDonald
(2020-2022): Biology,
University of Manchester

I enjoy learning about many
subjects and I was unsure what
to choose for A Levels, so the IB
gave me the opportunity to pick
extra subjects, such as Economics
and Environmental Systems &
Societies.
“
The IB has made me a critical thinker
and how to explain my thinking
using the knowledge I have gained
throughout the course. The tutors
promote peer discussion in most
subjects so we get to
understand each
other's perspectives
as well. It felt very
di昀昀erent to what I
had experienced in
school where there
were more distinct
right and wrong
answers.
